This has a fun grindhouse vibe, with a solid concept that the story doesn’t quite live up to.

I think I enjoyed the buildup to the main action more than the action itself. It's filled with Nazi scientists, dom kinks, secret government experiments, super soldiers, and BDSM clubs: all the stuff we go to the movies for. There's even a countdown motif that was really getting me excited.

When the action finally happens, although it's kinda gnarly, it could and should have been gnarlier. As soon as the super soldiers hit the trailer park, the film shifts into a slasher, despite hyping itself as leading to total carnage. Realistically, there should only have been 5 or 10 minutes left, considering how Terminator-like they are. Slashers need slower pacing, and all that action gets stretched into some pretty anticlimactic moments.

That said, some action sequences get genuinely intense, and the film looks incredibly cool. The super soldiers spend more time posing than actually killing, but they look awesome and, well, I’m only human; I ate up all that aura farming.

Adria Arjona is game for it all. She's got the talent and charisma to be a legit action star; she just needs the right showcase. Reginald VelJohnson is fun as a grizzled Vietnam vet, and Blake Kennedy is adorable as Adria's daughter. My queen Rebecca Hall gets a great role as the Big Bad behind everything, but she’s tragically underused.

Overall, while a bit underwhelming, it's still a fun throwback to classics like Universal Soldier, Commando, and all those ’80s action and B-movie gems.
